NEW DELHI — India’s youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) said on Tuesday it will continue protests but will not hold another march to Parliament, a day after clashes left scores injured in central Delhi. Delhi Police said nearly 180 people were injured on Monday, including 118 security and police personnel and 60 protesters, during attempts to stop the march. What Happened Thousands of protesters from Delhi and nearby areas gathered on Monday for the march. What began as an online satire movement has now grown into one of the biggest youth-led challenges to PM Narendra Modi’s third term. The CJP has been demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET paper leaks in May that affected more than 2 million students. Police said 70 protesters were detained on Monday and legal action would be taken against them. Protesters Hold Ground At Jantar Mantar Early Tuesday, about 150-200 protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar in central Delhi, chanting slogans amid light rain. Security was tight with paramilitary patrols and barricades causing traffic delays. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke told a press conference: “We had to call off the protest yesterday because we did not want more youth to be injured. “The group said it will continue its agitation through other peaceful means but will avoid direct marches to Parliament to prevent further injuries.
