The cumulative market capitalization of BSE-listed firms dropped from ₹485.01 lakh crore at Wednesday’s close to ₹480.99 lakh crore by Thursday’s end. This contraction translated to an aggregate single-day loss of approximately ₹4,02,173 crore for equity investors. Major Decliners Across Market Capitalizations Selling was widespread across broader and benchmark segments: Large-Cap Heavyweights: Steep declines were led by Bajaj Finance (-5.47%), Axis Bank (-4.87%), and Bajaj Finserv (-4.06%), alongside notable corrections in IndiGo (-2.78%), Trent (-2.75%), Mahindra & Mahindra (-2.31%), and Reliance Industries (-2.25%). Mid-Cap Segment: Policybazaar faced the brunt of the downturn, plummeting 35.98%. Other major mid-cap laggards included MFSL (-9.81%), AU Small Finance Bank (-4.95%), and IDFC First Bank (-4.70%).
