Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar, released in theatres on Friday. The film brings back the franchise’s popular cast including Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jaaved Jaaferi for another comedy ride.  According to Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 13.75 crore net in India on day 1. The domestic gross was Rs 16.5 crore. Overseas earnings added around Rs 5 crore, taking the worldwide opening day total to Rs 21.5 crore.

Dhamaal 4 had 10,669 shows on day 1 with an overall occupancy of 24.54%. Morning shows started at 8.38%, rising to 19.15% in the afternoon, 24.85% in the evening, and peaking at 42% at night. Delhi-NCR led with 969 shows and 22.8% occupancy, followed by Mumbai with 820 shows and 24% occupancy.  Compared to Ajay’s recent releases, Dhamaal 4 did better than De De Pyaar De 2 (Rs 8.75 cr) and Son of Sardaar 2 (Rs 7.25 cr). But it couldn’t beat Raid 2, which opened at Rs 19.25 crore net despite also featuring Riteish Deshmukh.
