Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has informed fans that he has been advised medical rest, leading to a temporary break from his regular online writing.

Posting on X, the 84-year-old actor requested his readers’ understanding, stating that medical professionals have instructed him to take a few days off to recover, preventing him from updating his usual posts and blog entries.

Recent Knee Injury on Set

The announcement follows an incident earlier this month on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, where the host sustained a minor knee injury. Deviating from his trademark standing opening monologue, Bachchan remained seated to address the studio audience.

He explained that he had slipped and hurt his left knee during the previous day’s filming. While acknowledging the physical discomfort, the actor assured concerned audience members and viewers that the injury was not serious and that he would manage standing portions as required during the game.

Past Health Concerns and Reflections

This is not the first time the actor’s health updates have drawn widespread attention:

  • July Blog Reflection: Earlier in July, Bachchan shared an introspective blog post reflecting on intensive care, surgery, and the demanding phase of post-discharge recovery. He described the transition back home after hospital treatment as mentally and physically taxing, emphasizing the resilience required to overcome illness.
  • Cryptic Online Notes: Following that reflection, he posted a brief note on X stating that while the game had concluded, work continued, sparking curiosity among followers.
  • Routine Checkups: Earlier in May, speculation arose regarding a potential hospital admission, which was subsequently clarified as a routine, same-day monthly health checkup at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital.
