Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and chose to bowl first in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.

Bangladesh are 0-2 down and playing for pride. Zimbabwe have a chance to seal a 3-0 whitewash at home.

What Miraz said

“We’ll bowl first. The bowling last game was a bit disappointing, but that’s behind us now. We’re focused on the next one.”

Miraz said the key is partnerships.

“We need the top order and the finishers to put stands together. We know the conditions after two games, we just didn’t bat well last time.”

Bangladesh made 2 changes: Mohammad Saifuddin and Tanvir Islam come in.

What Raza said

Zimbabwe rested Richard Ngarava for workload management.

“Richard is fine. With his back history and the games he’s played, it was important to give him a break,” captain Sikandar Raza said.

Raza praised the team environment.

“The confidence, mood and culture in the change room is adding to what you see on the field. Everyone’s in a good headspace. This is another chance to go 3-0.”

He also flagged the tricky winter pitch.

“Against the new ball at Sports Club in winter it’s always tough. But we improved from game 1 to 2, and I’m confident we’ll improve again today.”

Zimbabwe made 3 changes: Nyamhuri is out with a niggle. In come seamers Nesto and Chivanga, plus spinner Wellington Masakadza.

Pitch report

Good surface with a thick grass covering. It’s been heavily rolled. Should help both bat and ball, comes down to application.
