The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially published the final answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) 2026. The announcement was confirmed by the testing agency through a formal update on X (formerly Twitter). Key Details of the Announcement Final Answer Keys: Now available for 84 subjects following the preliminary release on August 16. Affected Subjects: English, Commerce, and Sociology papers will undergo re-examinations due to identified discrepancies. Re-Exam Dates: Scheduled for September 9 and September 10, 2026. Fee Exemption: Candidates appearing for the re-examinations will not be charged any extra examination fees. Reason for Re-Examinations An expert review committee identified multiple factual, typographical, translation, and linguistic errors in the question papers for English, Commerce, and Sociology administered during the June session. Following the findings, the NTA issued a special notification annulling the initial tests for these specific subjects and ordering a fresh round of exams. The UGC-NET is held nationwide by the NTA to determine the eligibility of Indian candidates for Assistant Professorships and Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) across higher education institutions in India.
