Prayagraj (UP) – The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested 11 people, including the principal of a government ITI, for allegedly running a racket where impersonators appeared for a computer-based exam in place of actual candidates. The arrests were made during a raid on Wednesday at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Naini, where the All India Trade Test CBT was underway. Who Was Arrested According to STF, those held include: Principal Ashok Kumar, Exam In-charge Ravi Prakash, 5 alleged solvers — Shivam Kumar, Ranvijay Singh, Jai Singh, Jitendra Patel and Dileep Kumar — and 4 instructors — Phool Prakash, Dheeraj Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and Rajkumar Maurya. What Was Recovered STF said it seized admit card photocopies, 5 computer sets, exam documents, 6 Android phones and Rs 5.26 lakh in cash from the centre and from the accused. How The Racket Worked An STF officer said they got inputs that from July 11 to August 8, staff at the centre were taking money from candidates and letting “solvers” appear for them in three shifts. During questioning, exam in-charge Ravi Prakash allegedly told officials that weak students were asked to pay. Solvers then appeared from a separate room in their place. Case Registered An FIR has been lodged at Naini police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
