Online Content Creator Manjeet Kaur Dies from Severe Burns Sustained in Brutal Attack

Social media influencer and makeup artist Manjeet Kaur, a resident of Kharar in Mohali, passed away on August 26, 2026, while undergoing treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

According to Chandigarh Police, family statements allege that Kaur was abducted from Chandigarh and set on fire before being hospitalized for nearly two months with severe burn injuries. Following her death, Chandigarh Police registered a case against two suspects under relevant sections for kidnapping and murder.

• The Incident: Family members stated that Kaur had traveled to Sector 34, Chandigarh, to meet an acquaintance. There, two individuals allegedly assaulted her, forced her into a vehicle, transported her to Morinda, and set her ablaze.
• Medical Transfer: An acquaintance initially admitted Kaur to a local hospital in Morinda. Due to the severity of her burns, she was shifted to Max Hospital in Mohali, and subsequently transferred to PGIMER Chandigarh on July 9, 2026.
• Police Action: Kharar Police initially recorded a Daily Diary Report (DDR) and transferred the information to Chandigarh Police. Following a formal complaint from Kaur’s mother, Chandigarh Police (Sector 34 Police Station) booked two individuals under sections governing kidnapping and murder.

Manjeet Kaur was a professional makeup artist and digital content creator originally from Haryana, who was residing in a rented accommodation in Kharar. She maintained a significant online presence, sharing beauty, styling, and lip-sync videos across platforms including YouTube and Instagram, where she had amassed around 146,000 followers. Police officials noted that she was unmarried and had reportedly been dealing with ongoing disputes involving certain acquaintances prior to the incident.
