Jabalpur — The Madhya Pradesh High Court has designated four special fast-track courts to hear cases related to exam paper leaks and related irregularities. The courts have been directed to complete trials within 3 months of charge sheets being filed. The move comes two days after the Central government assured setting up of fast-track courts for exam malpractices, including NEET-UG, amid nationwide protests over the May paper leak. Which Courts Will Handle Paper Leak Cases Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia on Friday night notified four district and additional sessions courts as special fast-track courts under the Lok Pariksha (Anuchit Sadhano Ka Nivaran) Adhiniyam, 2024. The designated judges are: Bhopal: 18th District & Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Patel Gwalior: 8th District & Additional Sessions Judge Vishal Akhand Jabalpur: 27th District & Additional Sessions Judge Anand Kumar Sehlam Indore: 26th District & Additional Sessions Judge Dr Shubhra Singh CM Mohan Yadav had announced a day earlier that fast-track courts would be set up in these four cities for speedy hearings and strict punishment. Jurisdiction & Mandate Will try offences under the Lok Pariksha Adhiniyam, 2024 Will also handle related cases under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 Will cover cases investigated by agencies referred by State or Central Government Jurisdiction of each court will extend to adjoining districts of its headquarters The High Court has directed principal district judges to ensure these courts deliver judgment within 3 months from the date of charge sheet submission. The government said the initiative aims to uphold the sanctity, transparency, and credibility of public examinations and ensure quick justice.
