San Diego — Marvel Studios has officially confirmed a new Ghost Rider film is in development. The announcement was made during the studio’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The film will star Ryan Gosling as the flaming-skull motorcycle hero and will release in 2028. Gosling and Levy Team Up Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed the project and brought Gosling on stage to massive cheers. “Wow, is this really happening?” Gosling told the crowd. “This is a character I’ve wanted to play for a very long time.” Gosling then introduced director Shawn Levy, saying “only one director” could bring Ghost Rider to life. Levy, who directed ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, joined him on stage. The two are currently working together on ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’, releasing May 28, 2027. Levy said the idea came up while they were on set: “As Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started riffing. And I finally said, ‘Bro, let’s ride.’ So guys, we’ll see you in 2028.” Ryan started talking about his vision for this character Feige joked that fans have been asking for years about when Ghost Rider — and Gosling — would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
