India kept its science Olympiad streak going with a strong show at the 37th International Biology Olympiad in Vilnius, Lithuania. Medal winners: Gold: Bhavyaa Gunwal, Mahendragarh, Haryana Silver: Soumil Maity, Howrah, West Bengal; Nishit Kalani, Pali, Rajasthan; Anmol Kumar, Mansa, Punjab All 4 Indian students won medals. The event had 307 students from 78 countries and tested them in 6-hour practical and theory exams on topics like Molecular Biology, Animal Physiology, Plant Biology and research-based concepts. The team was led by Dr. Anupama Ronad and Dr. Rekha Vartak from HBCSE-TIFR. The national program is supported by DAE, DST and the Ministry of Education.
