The global model expands the automaker’s domestic utility vehicle lineup and targets tech-focused buyers looking for next-generation mobility solutions. The name “BAYON” draws inspiration from Bayonne, a vibrant cultural city in the French Basque region. Hyundai chose the title to convey dynamic energy, adventure, and a bold design identity tailored for India’s evolving passenger vehicle market. Commenting on the announcement, HMIL Managing Director & CEO Tarun Garg stated that the vehicle represents a fresh design and product mindset. He emphasized that the SUV aims to offer intuitive, functional technology integrated into everyday driving, with additional specifications and launch details scheduled to follow in the coming weeks. To mark the title reveal, the company released a digital campaign set in a high-tech laboratory environment. The visual narrative assembles various digital and mechanical components to form the BAYON badge, concluding with the tagline “Intelligence ON.” HMIL plans to disclose powertrain options, feature sets, and market launch timelines over the next few weeks.
