New Delhi — The Congress on Monday targeted the Modi government after the CBI’s legal representative failed to appear at the first hearing of a newly constituted special fast-track court for the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh raised the issue on X, questioning the government’s push for fast-track courts as a solution to exam paper leaks. What Happened in Court Ramesh said the Delhi High Court had set up a special fast-track court on July 23 at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex in Delhi to hear the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak matter. However, he alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not send its legal representative for the first hearing. As a result, the case had to be adjourned immediately. Congress Attack on Govt In his post, Ramesh asked: “With what face is the Modi government beating the drum about fast-track courts as a solution to the paper leak crisis, when its own CBI is showing no initiative in the investigation and prosecution of these cases?” He further alleged that the central government lacks seriousness in dealing with paper leak cases. The Congress has been critical of the government’s handling of competitive exams, citing repeated instances of leaks and irregularities over the past two years.
