Senior Indian Police Service officer Anurag Kumar assumed charge as the Commissioner of Delhi Police on Friday. He replaces Satish Golcha as the top police official of the national capital. A 1994-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Kumar was serving as Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau before being appointed to the post by the Central Government. As per the order, 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer Golcha has been directed to report to Delhi for his next posting. Golcha had been serving as Delhi Police Commissioner since August 22, 2025.
