Large parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness widespread rain in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday. Rain and thundershowers are likely at most places across the state. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated spots in West UP, and heavy rain at a few places with very heavy showers at isolated locations in East UP. Thunderstorms with lightning are also very likely at several places. Lucknow Weather Forecast For Lucknow and nearby areas, the weather office has forecast a cloudy sky with intermittent rain and thundershowers on Sunday. Max temperature: around 29°C Min temperature: around 26°C The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain at isolated places in the capital region. River Water Levels Rise In West UP The wet spell comes as river levels rise in parts of western UP. In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the Hindon river in Noida is flowing above the danger mark, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC). As per the 6:52 pm bulletin, the river was at 196.16 meters at 6 pm — 0.16 meters above the danger level of 196.0 meters. The water level is rising at 40.01 mm per hour and is still 1.12 meters below the highest flood level of 197.28 meters recorded on July 26, 2023. The city recorded only a trace of rain between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. Day temperatures stayed below normal at many places due to monsoon conditions. However, some areas in Bundelkhand still recorded highs above 38°C.
