Actress Yami Gautam has won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in ‘Article 370’. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Saturday, and the win was celebrated by Yami and her husband-filmmaker Aditya Dhar. Yami Gautam’s Emotional Note Sharing the news on Instagram, Yami called it a defining moment of her career. She wrote, “Every journey has a moment that reminds you why you never gave up. Today is that moment for me. Receiving the National Award for Article 370 is an honour I will cherish for the rest of my life.” Reflecting on her 14-year journey in cinema, she added that she has always tried to stay true to her work and let her performances speak. “This honour feels like the culmination of a journey filled with hope, perseverance, resilience and an unwavering love for cinema.” Calling ‘Article 370’ special, Yami said it was more than just a film for her. “It was a story I deeply believed in. The fact that it was our home production makes this recognition even more emotional and personal.” She thanked the director, cast, crew, the National Award jury, and the audience for supporting meaningful cinema. “You reminded us that meaningful stories will always find their way to people’s hearts.” Ending her post, she said the award is “not the end of a dream, it is the beginning of a greater responsibility” and dedicated it “to every dreamer who is still waiting for their moment.” Aditya Dhar Reacts To Double Win ‘Article 370’ also won Best Feature Film. Aditya Dhar, who co-produced the film and is known for ‘Uri’, shared an emotional note too. “When we set out to make this film, we weren’t chasing accolades. We were driven by a conviction to tell a story with honesty, courage and sincerity,” he wrote. He added that seeing the film connect with audiences and now receive the highest honour in Indian cinema is “truly overwhelming.” Aditya thanked the entire team and said filmmakers have a responsibility to tell stories that matter. “From the bottom of my heart… THANK YOU.
