India’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma expressed quiet confidence ahead of the marquee Women’s Asia Cup showdown against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai, underscoring India’s consistent track record in the matchup.

With India already having sealed a spot in the semi-finals and Pakistan positioned to advance to the knockout rounds, the upcoming group-stage clash brings familiar high stakes. Speaking to reporters on the eve of the game, Sharma downplayed psychological edges while pointing to India’s historical edge in key fixtures.

“There is no distinct advantage, but across previous encounters—whether in the Asia Cup or other competitions—we have managed to stay one step ahead,” Sharma said during Friday’s media briefing.
