Traders in different area of Bhopal area staged a protest and kept their shops closed on Saturday to oppose sealing notices issued by the Municipal Corporation against commercial operations in residential areas. In Bhopal’s Awadhpuri area traders Carrying banners and posters, local shopkeepers, accompanied by family members, organized a march, criticizing the civic body for carrying out anti-encroachment actions right before the Rakshabandhan festival.

Simultaneously, local residents in areas like Gulmohar and Trilanga are raising concerns over the corporation’s enforcement handling. Residents plan to hold a evening torch-light march from Sewayein Market under the banner of the Samyukt Rahwasi Sangharsh Samiti to demand decisive action rather than formal notices.

  • Supreme Court Directives: The Supreme Court had previously directed the civic body to take firm action against unauthorized commercial structures in residential plots and submit an action-taken report.
