Ayodhy(UP) Thousands of needy families in Ayodhya who have been waiting for permanent housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) have taken a major step closer to getting their homes. The selection process of eligible beneficiaries across all 89 Gram Panchayats of Rudauli block has reached its final stage, and the finalized list has been submitted to the state government. Transparent Beneficiary Selection via AI Technology To ensure fairness and eliminate errors in the selection process, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology was integrated into the verification framework alongside ground-level inspections. This technological validation ensures that housing benefits reach only genuine, deserving households living in temporary or dilapidated structures. Survey Covered Over 7,100 Households The selection process involved extensive fieldwork and verification steps: Door-to-Door Survey: A survey launched in January 2024 deployed a team of 35 officials to assess the socioeconomic and living conditions of over 7,122 families. Multi-Tier Verification: The collected data underwent multi-level cross-verification by block- and district-level committees. Open Village Meetings: Survey lists were presented in open Gram Sabha meetings, allowing residents to raise concerns and resolve any discrepancies transparently. Government Final Approval Awaited According to Block Development Officer Akhilesh Kumar Gupta, the approved list of beneficiaries from the Gram Sabhas has been submitted to the government. Once technical checks and target allocations are finalized at the state level, funds will be sanctioned for the construction of permanent houses for the eligible beneficiaries.
