Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has reaffirmed his stance against casting Ranveer Singh as the iconic superhero Shaktimaan in the upcoming film adaptation, despite admitting that his decision is “commercially stupid.” Speaking on a podcast with Subhojit Ghosh, Khanna revealed that he turned down multi-crore offers and halted production payments to protect the character’s core image and integrity. While acknowledging Ranveer’s versatility and praising his intense screen presence in films like Gully Boy and Dhurandhar, Khanna stated that the actor lacks the specific positive persona required for the titular superhero. Instead, Khanna suggested Ranveer would be better suited to play the primary antagonist, Tamraj Kilvish.
