Motorola is gearing up to bring the Edge 70 Max to India. The brand has already opened a Flipkart microsite that gives us our first official look at the phone, plus hints about AI upgrades and wireless charging.

This will be the fifth model in the Edge 70 lineup for India, joining the standard Edge 70, Fusion, Pro, and Pro+. The device was earlier spotted in BIS and WPC listings that confirmed the name and 25W wireless charging support.

Design details

Leaked images from the microsite show a phone with a flat screen and flat back, moving away from the curved edges seen on the Pro and Pro+ models. You get a boxy camera island with three sensors and an LED flash. There’s also a centered punch-hole display, thin bezels, and what looks like a new side button on the left — likely for quick access to Moto AI features.

Performance

Reports point to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip under the hood. If true, that makes the Max the most powerful in the Edge 70 family. Motorola is also advertising a 46% jump in NPU speed for on-device AI work compared to the last gen, which lines up with Qualcomm’s own claims for the new chip.

Charging & other highlights

Wireless charging : 25W support confirmed

Magnetic charging : A teaser image suggests built-in magnets for Qi2 accessories. That means you could snap on wallets, grips, or chargers without a case. Only a handful of Android phones offer this right now.

Build: Expected to meet MIL-STD-810H durability standards

Camera: Likely a 50MP main sensor with Sony tech, plus ultra-wide and telephoto lenses

Colors: Leaks mention Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue options

Launch timeline Motorola hasn’t shared a date yet, but with the microsite live and certifications done, an announcement should arrive in the next few weeks. Availability outside India hasn’t been confirmed.
