Mahindra & Mahindra has officially unveiled its global lifestyle pickup, set to launch in India as the Scam / Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler by April 2027. Internationally, the vehicle will be marketed simply as the Mahindra Lifestyler, expanding the brand’s footprint across key right-hand drive (RHD) and left-hand drive (LHD) markets.

Key Vehicle Announcements

  • Scorpio Lifestyler: Originally showcased as a concept in Cape Town in August 2023, the pickup is engineered at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai and designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in Mumbai. It will feature three distinct trims: Valley, Reef, and Trail. Indian pricing will start below ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • BE 6-SPORTEQ EV Series: Mahindra also introduced its all-new electric SUV series, the BE 6-SPORTEQ, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin August 26. The lineup features two premium variants: a top-of-the-line Launch Edition and the performance-oriented Formula E Freedom Edition.

Global Growth and Market Strategy

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive Division, highlighted strong demand for a vehicle combining authentic off-road capability with modern comfort and safety.

  • Target Regions: Mahindra is prioritizing mid-size lifestyle pickup segments across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and broader African markets.
  • Strategic Expansion: While doubling down on established strongholds like South Africa and Australia, Mahindra is evaluating potential expansion into Indonesia’s commercial sector and considering a deliberate, measured entry into the UK—the world’s largest RHD SUV market outside India.
