Kia has officially unveiled the India-spec Sorento three-row flagship SUV ahead of its scheduled launch on September 4, 2026. Set to be local-assembled at Kia’s manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the Sorento will mark the brand’s first hybrid vehicle and its first ICE-powered three-row SUV in the Indian market. Local assembly is expected to keep pricing competitive, estimated between ₹30 lakh and ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom). Engine & Powertrain Options 1.6-Litre Strong-Hybrid: Produces 238 hp and 380 Nm of torque, equipped with segment-first All-Wheel Drive (AWD). 2.0-Litre Diesel: Delivers 202 hp and 441 Nm of torque ( shared with the Kia Carnival). Transmission: Automatic transmissions are expected across both engine options. Exterior & Design Highlights Measuring 4,815 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height with a 2,815 mm wheelbase, the Sorento retains its global proportions. Exterior highlights include: Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille flanked by vertical LED headlamps and Y-shaped DRLs. Front bumper featuring LED fog lamps, a broad central air intake, and vertical aero vents. Inverted L-shaped split LED tail-lamps, a rear roof spoiler, and likely 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Cabin, Features & Technology Offered in 6- and 7-seater configurations, the interior is equipped with a dual-screen layout (expected 12.3-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment) and a dual-purpose physical/touch bar for HVAC and media. The India-spec Sorento will also introduce the Kia AI voice assistant globally for the model line. Key feature highlights include: Level 2 ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera system. Panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. Ventilated front seats, digital IRVM, powered tailgate, and wireless charging pad. Upon launch, the Kia Sorento will compete directly against full-size SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian.
