Jaipur – Jaipur is set to replace its old fixed-timer traffic signals with a fully AI-driven system after a pilot project at Rambagh Circle delivered strong results, officials said on Monday. The 39-day trial of the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), run by Jaipur Traffic Police with Data Core Infotech from June 3 to July 11, was called a “100 per cent success.” Under the next phase, 253 of Jaipur’s 423 major junctions will be fitted with AI smart cameras and linked to the central ITMS. How the AI system works Unlike current signals that run on fixed 60 or 90-second cycles regardless of traffic, the AI system adjusts in real time. “Cameras at intersections track vehicle volume and queue length 24×7. The system automatically gives more green time to congested roads and cuts it on empty ones — with zero manual intervention,” said company directors Basant Goswami and Ojas Shukla. The project was launched on directions from DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma to cut congestion and pollution. Pilot results at Rambagh 4.88 lakh+ vehicles passed through smoothly without manual control Drivers saved 8 to 45 seconds per lane Average green signal time: 33.63 seconds Each camera processed ∼4,200 vehicles daily System auto-detected ∼450 violations per day like overspeeding, red-light jumping, and wrong-side driving “With this system, violators will find it much harder to escape detection,” officials said. The expansion aims to make Jaipur’s roads faster, safer, and less polluted. Post navigation Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Leaks in New ‘Pine’ Green Color
