The monsoon is expected to pick up speed across India once again. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), two new low-pressure systems are likely to form around August 12. This shift will trigger heavy rainfall in some regions and persistent light-to-moderate showers in others. The National Capital Region (NCR), including Delhi, is also expected to experience changing weather patterns through August 14.

Dual Systems Activating Around August 12

Currently, two separate weather systems are active—one near Madhya Pradesh and another over the Bay of Bengal. Weather experts indicate that as these systems intensify around August 12, they will likely develop into formal low-pressure areas.

Once fully formed, these developments will expand rainfall coverage across central, eastern, and northern India.

Regional Weather Forecast Breakdown

• Central & Western India: Regions across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat continue to see heavy precipitation, with wet conditions expected to persist.
• Eastern & Northeastern India: Odisha, West Bengal, and several northeastern states are forecasted to experience an increase in heavy downpours over the coming days.
• Himalayan Region: A combination of a western disturbance and moisture flowing from the Bay of Bengal is bringing favorable rainfall to parts of the northern hills.
• Southern India: South India is currently experiencing a lull, as no major rainfall-inducing system is active in the region at present.

Delhi-NCR Weather Outlook (August 11–14)

Cloudy skies and periodic spells of rain are expected across Delhi and surrounding areas.

Recent Conditions: Over the past 24 hours, parts of Delhi recorded light-to-moderate rain under generally cloudy skies, keeping minimum temperatures between 23°C and 27°C.
