Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini has set the record straight regarding her relationship with the late iconic actor Dharmendra’s first family, dismissing persistent media rumors of internal discord. Speaking in a recent interview, the cinema legend emphasized that the family stands united and urged the public to disregard misleading stories circulating online.

Dharmendra, who passed away recently, married Hema Malini in 1980 after his first marriage to Prakash Kaur in 1954. Rumors of tension between Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s first family—including his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol—have resurfaced frequently in the public domain.

Addressing the speculation, Hema Malini clarified that the family remains closely knit, warning against fabricated digital content.

“Our family is completely united,” she said. “Please do not blindly trust stories generated by AI or unfounded rumors. We are happy with each other, and we never paid attention to people who pointed fingers or judged us. Our relationship was based on pure love, and we lived our lives on our own terms.”

Reflecting on her decades-long journey with Dharmendra, whom she described as her soulmate, the veteran star shared emotional memories of his constant support throughout her artistic career.

“He always stood by me and encouraged my classical dance performances, telling me that it brought me spiritual peace,” she recalled. “Now that he is no longer here, the void remains impossible to fill. People ask if I have overcome the grief, but this pain never truly goes away. I miss him every single moment.”
