Ajay Devgn has expressed strong confidence in Drishyam: The Conclusion, calling the upcoming third installment of the celebrated thriller franchise “fabulous” and noting that it surpasses its predecessor. Devgn returns as the shrewd Vijay Salgaonkar, this time going head-to-head with SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar, played by Jaideep Ahlawat. Addressing an audience at FICCI Frames, Devgn pointed out that the new film breaks away from previous adaptations with an entirely fresh narrative. “The original one did not have Akshaye Khanna’s character as such, but Drishyam 3 is a completely new script. They are two very different films,” he stated. He added that director Abhishek Pathak and the writing team spent roughly two years refining the story, and the strength of the final script convinced the makers that this entry should serve as the definitive conclusion to the saga. Produced by Panorama Studios and presented by Star Studios, the thriller features an ensemble cast that includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav. The screenplay was co-written by Pathak along with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The Hindi film series began in 2015 as an adaptation of Mohanlal’s Malayalam original, chronicling Salgaonkar’s cunning efforts to shield his family following the accidental death of a senior police officer’s son. The narrative was later revisited in 2022’s Drishyam 2 when new evidence surfaced, setting up the ultimate showdown in the upcoming finale.
