Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan addressed transit restrictions and rising political tensions ahead of planned demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, emphasizing that India’s youth cannot be suppressed while criticizing political efforts that disrupt public life.

Speaking to journalists during an academic convocation in Sonipat, Haryana, Paswan responded to questions regarding preventive travel restrictions and security arrangements:

“They are the youth of India; no one can stop them. For those attempting to create illusions—how many trains can one realistically halt? How much connectivity can be shut down? How many roads can be blocked? The youth of India hold the power to lead the world, as they have done for generations.”

Criticizing Roadblocks Over Constructive Dialogue

While affirming the aspirations of the youth, the NDA alliance leader criticized opposition groups for orchestrating street protests rather than pursuing formal administrative remedies with constitutional authorities.

Paswan asserted that in a democratic framework, grievances regarding electoral transparency should be addressed directly to the Election Commission of India (ECI):

  • Direct Engagement: Rather than shutting down city corridors and causing public distress, aggrieved parties should formally meet the Chief Election Commissioner to register objections and seek verified responses.
  • Critique of Street Agitations: He argued that frequent disruptions point toward generating political agitation rather than achieving workable solutions, noting that electoral setbacks should not translate into recurring public inconvenience.
  • Support for Constructive Youth Platforms: Paswan noted that while opposing disruptive shutdowns, he remains open to engaging directly with students and young citizens to address genuine concerns—referencing his earlier backing of candidates protesting the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) TRE-4 exam structure, which resulted in authorities returning to a single-tier format.

Party Clarification on Youth Power and Alliance Autonomy

Elaborating on Paswan’s remarks, LJP (RV) MP from Jamui, Arun Bharati, stated that the comments celebrated the resilience of young Indians across every professional sector. Bharati noted that while state authorities are entitled to manage transport logistics to prevent disorder, legitimate and permitted protests should not face arbitrary suppression. He reiterated that his party functions as an autonomous, supportive coalition partner rather than an uncritical subordinate within the NDA.
