BMW Motorrad has officially introduced the F 450 RR, completing its new middleweight lineup alongside the previously showcased F 450 GS adventure tourer and F 450 R naked roadster. Taking strong styling and technical cues from the flagship S 1000 RR, this sub-500 cc sportbike serves as an accessible entry point for riders seeking track-oriented performance without transitioning straight to a liter-class machine. Design and Ergonomics The F 450 RR carries aggressive bodywork modeled after its larger sibling, featuring aerodynamic side fairings with distinctive cooling gills and integrated downforce winglets. Unlike the dual-beam headlights seen on the S 1000 RR, the front fascia houses a centrally positioned single headlamp flanked by prominent daytime running lights (DRLs). A sculpted 14-liter fuel tank flows into a raised, narrow tail section, while clip-on handlebars ensure an aggressive, forward-leaning track posture. Electronics and Tech Instrumentation is handled by a 6.5-inch color TFT display supporting Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and media management, backed by a USB Type-C charging socket. The comprehensive electronics package includes: Rider Aids: Cornering ABS (ABS Pro), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Traction Control, and Engine Drag Torque Control. Riding Modes: Rain, Road, Race, and a customizable Race Pro mode tailored for track use. Powertrain and Performance At the heart of the tubular steel trellis chassis is a new 420 cc parallel-twin engine delivering 48 hp of maximum power and 43 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent through a 6-speed gearbox equipped with an optional bi-directional quick-shifter. BMW also offers an Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) system for seamless, clutchless gear transitions. Chassis and Cycle Parts The suspension setup utilizes a 43 mm KYB upside-down front fork paired with a preload-adjustable KYB rear monoshock. Braking hardware consists of a 310 mm front disc clamped by a Brembo four-piston radial caliper, along with a 240 mm disc and ByBre single-piston caliper at the rear. Wheels & Weight: 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends; kerb weight stands at 177 kg. Seat Height: 790 mm standard, with optional 775 mm (low) and 810 mm (tall) accessory seats.
