Mumbai Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat died on Tuesday evening around 6 pm while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was 74. Rawat was first admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. About 10 days ago he was shifted to a cancer hospital in Bhiwandi for further treatment. He is survived by his wife and son, Vikramaditya. Actor Yashpal Sharma paid tribute to him on Instagram. A Career Across 5 Languages Rawat was a well-known face in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam cinema with a career spanning over three decades. He gained wide recognition for playing the ruthless villain in the Tamil film Ghajini (2005). The role was so popular that he reprised it opposite Aamir Khan in the 2008 Hindi remake. He had earlier worked with Aamir Khan in Lagaan (2001). Many audiences first knew him as Ashwatthama in BR Chopra’s iconic TV series Mahabharat. Although he made his film debut with Meri Jung in 1985, it was Mahabharat that brought him national fame.
