Seoul — Global group BTS will not submit any music for the 2027 Grammy Awards. The 7 members said they want their work to be judged on artistry, not by region or language. All members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — shared a joint message on social media: “We decided not to submit to the Grammys this year. We want music to be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being categorized by region or language. We sincerely thank ARMY and everyone who is always with us.” The statement comes amid discussions about the Recording Academy’s new “Best Asian Pop” category, which many artists feel boxes music by geography instead of genre or quality. BTS has been nominated multiple times at the Grammys in the past and made history as the first Korean act to receive a nomination and perform at the ceremony.
