New Delhi — Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Education following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. He has formally assumed office as Education Minister while continuing to handle his existing portfolios. President Droupadi Murmu accepted Pradhan’s resignation with immediate effect on July 25, 2026, on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pralhad Joshi Assumes Education Ministry After taking charge, Joshi posted on X: “Today, I have assumed charge as Union Education Minister. I am grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reposing trust in me and assigning this responsibility. I accept it with humility and a deep sense of duty.” Joshi currently holds charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
