New Delhi — Shares of SBI Funds Management extended gains to nearly 9% on Tuesday after a decent market debut. The stock listed at Rs 613.30 on NSE, a 6.85% premium over the IPO price of Rs 574. It later touched an intraday high of Rs 624.90, up 8.8%. On BSE, it debuted at Rs 610, a 6.27% premium. The Rs 9,812.91 crore IPO was priced in the range of Rs 545-574 per share. What Analysts Are Saying Long-term view: Shivani Nyati, Swastika Investmart said the long-term case remains strong due to SBI Funds’ market leadership, SBI brand strength, wide distribution, asset-light model, and reasonable valuation vs peers. “IPO allottees can hold for the long term. Fresh investors can buy on dips. Short-term traders can keep a stop-loss around Rs 585-590. Overall outlook is positive.” Market view: Dr. Ravi Singh, Master Capital Services noted that future movement will depend more on quarterly results than listing hype. He said the stock is a play on India’s growing mutual fund penetration and rising financial savings, rather than a high-growth story. The listing was below grey market expectations, where a ∼16% premium was anticipated. Key Facts Post-listing, SBI Funds became India’s 2nd largest asset manager by market cap at Rs 1,26,140 crore on NSE. Peers: ICICI Prudential AMC ~Rs 1,54,000 crore, HDFC AMC ~Rs 1,13,000 crore.
