Tamil Nadu CM and actor Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, is making his debut as a director with Sigma. In a recent chat, he also spoke about turning down an acting offer and whether he might step in front of the camera later. Jason on acting offers and Sigma Style In an interview with Ananda Vikatan, Jason said he was 20 years old when Premam actor-director Alphonse Puthren offered him a role. He declined it at the time. He was also seen in the promo track Sigma Style, but he clarified that it wasn’t because he wants to become an actor. “I wasn’t part of the promo song to launch an acting career. That song is separate from the film’s story. It was done just to introduce the team and give viewers a feel of the film’s tone. That’s why I danced in it,” he explained.Jason added that directing also brings out his acting side. “When you’re a director and you’re explaining a scene to actors, there’s an actor inside you too. But right now my priority is to get Sigma released and make it work. That’s all I’m focused on. I’ll decide about acting or continuing as a director only after the film comes out.” About Sigma and possible release date clash Sigma is backed by Lyca Productions and stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah. It is currently slated for July 31, but reports suggest the heist thriller could move to August.The possible shift is linked to Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan. Directed by H. Vinoth and also starring Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde, the film was initially planned for a Pongal release in January. It faced CBFC delays after an objection from an examining committee member. Seven months later, the revising committee cleared it with cuts.
