Following a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), more than 2.06 crore voters—representing 21.14 percent of Maharashtra’s earlier voter base—have been omitted from the draft electoral roll, according to state election authorities. The newly published draft roll contains over 7.71 crore registered voters (78.86 percent of the prior electorate). The total includes approximately 3.95 crore male voters, 3.75 crore female voters, and 3,087 third-gender electors. Prior to the revision drive, the state’s total registered electorate stood at 9.78 crore. Reasons for Non-Inclusion State election officials reported that 2,06,88,487 enumeration forms could not be collected. The uncollected forms correspond to individuals who were untraceable, had permanently relocated, were deceased, held duplicate entries, were registered in other constituencies, or opted not to submit the required form.
