London — Sunil Anand, son of late Hindi cinema legend Dev Anand, passed away at the age of 70 after suffering a heart attack in London. The family has confirmed the news. According to a statement issued by the family, Sunil Anand was admitted to hospital following the heart attack, where he breathed his last. The news has left the film industry and fans in mourning. Family Confirms the News Dev Anand’s granddaughter and Sunil Anand’s niece, Gina Narang, issued an official statement confirming his demise. In the statement she said: “With a heavy heart, our family confirms the passing of Sunil Anand and expresses our grief. The love, prayers, and support we have received have given us great strength, for which we are truly grateful. We request privacy during this difficult time.” About Sunil Anand Sunil Anand was the son of iconic actor-filmmaker Dev Anand and actress Kalpana Kartik. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He made his Bollywood debut in 1984 with Anand Aur Anand, acting alongside his father. It was their only film together on screen. The film did not do well commercially. He later appeared in Car Thief and Main Tere Liye, but none of them helped his acting career take off. After stepping away from acting, Sunil moved out of the limelight and dedicated himself to managing his father’s production banner, Navketan Films, in Mumbai. Carrying Dev Anand’s Legacy Dev Anand died in 2011 at the age of 88. His passing was a huge loss for the family. In September 2023, on Dev Anand’s 100th birth anniversary, Sunil spoke about his father and their close bond.
