Bengaluru-headquartered electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette has officially launched its newest performance electric motorcycle, the X-47 Venom. An evolution of the earlier X-47 Crossover, the motorcycle is the debut model built on the company’s new modular VX-100 architecture, which integrates updated battery, motor, and vehicle control hardware designed to support multiple future vehicle formats and power ratings. Ultraviolette has introduced the X-47 Venom at an introductory price of ₹2.6 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru) for the initial 5,000 bookings, after which the base price will revise to ₹3 lakh. Official bookings are now open. Global Debut and Market Expansion Following its domestic rollout, the X-47 Venom will make its European debut on November 3 at the EICMA motor show in Milan. Europe currently contributes roughly 10% of Ultraviolette’s volumes across 20 export destinations, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and France. The launch aligns with a broader expansion roadmap: Sales Targets: The manufacturer aims to lift monthly motorcycle shipments from roughly 700 units to 1,000 units by early 2027. With incoming portfolio additions—such as the Shockwave motorcycle and the upcoming Tesseract electric scooter—it targets overall sales of approximately 10,000 units per month within a year. Geographic Footprint: Ultraviolette is preparing to enter the United States market in 2027 while assessing opportunities across Southeast Asia and Latin America. Domestic Retail Network: The domestic dealership footprint is slated to double from about 50 showrooms to 100 outlets by Q1 2027. Capital Infusion and Manufacturing Scale-Up To back its platform development and manufacturing expansion, Ultraviolette secured $85 million in September during an investment round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, alongside Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. The firm is also deploying ₹779 crore over the next five years to establish a manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The site will ultimately achieve an annual run-rate of 2.5 lakh vehicles to produce the Tesseract scooter and future EV platforms alongside its current Bengaluru facility. Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette’s existing investor base includes TVS Motor Company, Zoho, Qualcomm Ventures, and Lingotto.
