Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to his late colleague and friend Nana Patekar by sharing archival footage highlighting their long-standing personal and professional connection. The compilation shared across Bachchan’s social media platforms included significant milestones from their careers, notably the launch ceremony of their 1999 action film Kohram, Patekar’s appearances on the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and past interview segments where Patekar spoke admiringly of Bachchan. The post also featured a rendition of the classic melody “Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala,” emphasizing their mutual respect across decades. Heartfelt Blog Reflections Writing on his personal blog, Bachchan expressed deep sorrow and shock over the sudden loss, describing their frequent communication: “Speechless! Every other day, he and I would stay in touch through messages. Today, his message didn’t come!” Tribute on the KBC Stage Bachchan also dedicated a moment on the set of Kaun Banega Crorepati to honour Patekar’s artistry and extensive philanthropic work, particularly noting his visits during Season 16. Bachchan reflected on Patekar’s distinct directness, simplicity, and moral conviction, emphasizing that while such figures depart, their social contributions, distinct voice, and lessons endure. Patekar passed away on Thursday and was accorded full state honours during his last rites at his farmhouse in Donje, Pune.
