Competing in the women’s traditional 60kg weight category, Tariyal booked her place in the semifinals, assuring herself of at least a medal as the sport makes its inaugural appearance at the continental event. The 36-year-old showcased commanding form during her quarterfinal clash, outclassing Mongolia’s Altan Baigalmaa to seal a top-four placement. A win in her upcoming semifinal contest will send Tariyal into the final, giving her the chance to fight for the first-ever Asian Games gold medal in the division.
