Country music powerhouse Miranda Lambert has unveiled “Two Things Can Be True,” an emotional, retro-infused ballad released ahead of her upcoming studio project. The 42-year-old singer-songwriter leans into mid-century country elegance on the track, framing raw vocals against sweeping strings, atmospheric synthesizers, and weeping pedal steel. The instrumentation leans heavily into the signature sonic aesthetic of country icon Patsy Cline. Lyrically, the song examines the agonizing friction of a romantic triangle. Though happily married in her personal life to Brendan McLoughlin, Lambert explores the perspective of a partner watching their significant other slip away into the arms of someone else while technically remaining in the relationship—embodying the painful duality referenced in the title. Speaking on the record, Lambert described the single as a standout favorite from her forthcoming collection, noting that the interaction between the pedal steel and string arrangements captures a classic, traditional country essence.
