Following the official announcement of the upcoming biopic on Bharat Ratna recipient and classical Carnatic icon MS Subbulakshmi, actor Rashmika Mandanna and the film’s production crew visited the legendary singer’s family. The project has been officially titled MS – A Legacy On Screen.

Co-producers Geetha Arts published a viral video documenting the meeting on X. The footage captures Mandanna, dressed in traditional attire, greeting the family members with the creative team to express gratitude for their blessings and backing ahead of production.

  • Direction & Music: Gowtam Tinnanuri is set to direct the biographical drama, featuring an original score composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Born in Madurai on September 16, 1916, MS Subbulakshmi emerged from a lineage of classical artistes to become one of the foremost exponents of Carnatic music on the global stage. Renowned for her historic vocal performances and devotional recordings, she made history in 1998 as the first musician ever to be conferred the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.
